Week 39 in Photos

First, this week we are to share our favorite photo from September.  I had a few that I really liked for one reason or another, but I chose this one as my favorite.
Macro Monarch - favorite
In all the time we've been raising Monarch butterflies, I hadn't taken any macro photos of them until now.

While it is hard to believe the September is officially over, I am glad it is.  My calendar was extremely full last month and this month - not so much.  And that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh uh-huh.

So now that you have that song stuck in your head (you are welcome, by the way - the only question is: do you have the KC and the Sunshine Band version or the little Einstein bobbleheads from the Night at the Museum 2 movie version stuck in your head?), let's look at last week's pics ...

Doug and the boys surprised me by decorating the porch on Saturday while Keira and I were at a friend's baby shower.  I love surprises like this!

Our sixteenth and last Monarch of this year was a gorgeous female.  We tagged and released her in the late afternoon.

Alex and Nick cut some vines so they could swing from them.  While swinging they were singing, "George, George, George of the jungle, watch out for that tree!"  It was fun to watch them.

Wednesday was extremely busy as I was making some last-minute preparations for kids' club (totally my fault for waiting until the last minute).  I didn't pick up my camera until that evening when I walked around and photographed the kids working on their crafts.  My niece, Jordan, is always a willing model.

The sun glowing on the corn decorations on the porch caught my eye.

Keira turned 14 on September 21, but we hadn't had a chance to take any pictures of her until this evening.  The sun was gorgeous so we tried using my reflector and shot a few photos.  Thankfully my mom was there to hold the reflector for me because the boys were having trouble being still.  :)

Keira decorated the cupcakes for her birthday party.  She asked if she could, in case you were wondering.

So that was my week!  Hoping this week finds me more able to pick up my camera and feel inspired to photograph the world around me.

Have a great week!

Stunning photos - love the one of the Monarch - so beautifully captured on that lovely flower. And the cupcakes look delicious!

That looks like so much fun to swing on a vine. My boys would be all over that. Love the shot of the sun shining through the corn. Great cupcakes too!

Awesome week!!!!!! Dying for a cupcake. I have been wondering what sort of treat I would make this week- it may just have to be cupcakes!

Happy Birthday to her!!!!
